Dr. Michelle Sciortino
Dr. Sciortino grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree at Iowa State University. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois, worked in that area, and volunteered at local animal shelters for several years before moving to the Quad Cities to start at Furever Family Veterinary Care Center. Dr. Sciortino has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, nutrition, and animal behavior. She is Fear Free Certified and enjoys being able to appreciate and improve the human-animal bond through her work every day. Outside of the veterinary clinic, Dr. Sciortino likes spending time with her husband, Jake, and their spoiled rotten dogs (Arlo and Ember) and pet sand boa (Nagini). Her hobbies include running, biking, bathing her constantly muddy golden retriever, and traveling.
Dr. Kristin Hook
Owner, Medical Director
Meet Dr. Kristin Hook - our lead veterinarian and medical director of FFVCC. She was born and raised outside of Rockford, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Speech Communication and Spanish, and then stayed on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Since then she has worked at several day practices around the QCA, and spent over 10 years at the local emergency center as well. She is interested in dermatology, behavior, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric/senior care. She is a strong advocate for patient care and comfort, and humane care of all animals. In her time away from the center, she stays very busy with her husband and four children in Wilton, IA. She enjoys running with her dogs, baking, gardening, camping, and watching all of her kids' sporting events. Her fur kids include 3 dogs—Otis, Mavis, and Izzy, and 2 cats—Lois and Stanley. She was first introduced to fear-free concepts at a veterinary conference in 2016 and has since become one of the first veterinarians in the QCA to become fear-free certified. She is beyond excited to meet you and welcome you to FFVCC!

Patient Care and Client Care Advisor
Jasmine joined our team in 2020, as a Patient Care Advisor and a Client Care Advisor. She is a native Texan but has lived in the Quad City area for a few years. She was a member of Future Farmers of America, and is currently attending Black Hawk Community College, focusing in Agricultural Education and Animal Sciences. Jasmine has a passion for teaching and agriculture, and a goal to teach at either a high-school or college level, and raise livestock.
Currently she has two domestic short-haired cats, Phil and Maybel, one guinea pig, Rueben, and a ball python named Beau. She is very excited to use her fear-free certification to help and educate owners about the health and well-being of their furry family members in the most comfortable way.

Janeen is a QC native. While completing her bachelors degree in Animal Science at Iowa State University she worked for and trained at the Central Iowa Animal Emergency Center. She became fear free certified and joined our team in 2020. As a military spouse, her and her family have moved all over the United States. Now she is happily settled with her husband and five kids on a small hobby farm in Walcott. Her farm includes multiple alpaca, a mini horse, a mini mule, chickens, sugar gliders, a chameleon, cats, and 2 dogs. When she is not loving on your fur babies, she can be found running the busy mom life and enjoying the beautiful chaos.

Kayleigh is a Certified Veterinary Technician, having graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids Iowa with the class of 2020. Kayleigh grew up in Florida, moved to Iowa in 2014, and relocated to the Quad Cities in the spring of 2020. She knew right away that she wanted to practice fear free medicine and has been using those skills even while she was still in school. Kayleigh’s favorite parts of being a technician include surgery, radiology and of course, cuddles! She always treats your furry family members as if they were her own. Kayleigh and her husband, Austin, have two dogs, Maggie and Freddy, but plan to expand with every animal possible! She can’t wait to meet more furry friends and provide them with the best care imaginable!
We are so happy to include Sarah as a part of our Furever Family team! Sarah grew up in the Des Moines area and moved to the QCA in 2002. The same year she started working at a local daytime veterinary clinic, then moved on to a local emergency clinic in 2006. 11 years later, she is excited to join day practice once again. She enjoys assisting in surgical procedures, from getting patients ready for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and managing patients post-procedures. She is very interested in pain management drugs and techniques, and wants to make your pets' procedures here as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Sarah likes to spend her free time reading, walking and camping. Sarah and her husband, Abraham, have a large fur family including 3 dogs: Dickens, Eddie and Wyatt and 3 cats: Henry, Millie and Lyle. Like the rest of our staff, she is anxious to put her fear-free training into action and make your and your pets' experience a great one.
We are excited to introduce you to veterinary technician, Jean! Jean grew up on a farm outside of Milan IL and has always had a great love of animals, participating in FFA, 4H, and horse judging while still in high school. She has been a veterinary technician for 24 years! She started out at a large and small animal (mixed) practice, and has been in small animal exclusive medicine for the past 20 years. Jean and her husband have lived in Reynolds IL for the past 30 years where they raised their 2 grown daughters, Kayla and Nikki. Their current housemates are a naughty Domestic Medium Haired cat named Newman, and a perfectly sweet Golden Retriever named Remi. In her spare time, Jean enjoys working out in the gym, running road races with her family, gardening, traveling, and fishing with her husband. Her greatest joy as a veterinary technician is helping owners keep their pets happy and healthy. She is excited to use her fear-free certification, as well as her years of experience, to make your visit as pleasant, educational, and helpful as possible.

Kirsten was originally trained as a Patient Care Advisor, but also has been learning and excelling at technician duties around the clinic. She is native to the QCA and graduated from United Township. Afterwards, she went to community college for human medical studies. She lives with her crazy fur kids – Ducky, Copper, and Banjo. Kirsten actually started out at FFVCC as a client and liked us so much that she applied to be a team member once we had an opening!! She has always loved animals and has a passion to help them. Her goal is to continue schooling in veterinary medicine. Away from work, she loves to travel and hike with Copper and Banjo. Kirsten is certified in fear free practices and is excited to educate you not only about preventative care and keeping your pets safe, but also about why we are so excited about the Fear Free Way.
Lead Client Care Advisor
Let us introduce to you our wonderful Rebecca! She works so hard for us working up front as a Client Care Advisor, and is the smiling face you see when you walk in the door. She has been an animal lover since she was very young. Becca has already graduated with her veterinary assistant certificate, and has career goals aimed to help, enhance, and save animals. In her free time, she spoils her fur baby, Toby, rotten. She embraces her fear free certification and is excited to meet all of your fur babies, and use her certification to make your and their experience here helpful, calm, and productive.
We are excited to welcome amazing groomer, Tori, to our Furever Family Team!!! She is a Moline native, and was in the Marines for 8 years after high school. After leaving the Corps, she starting looking for a new career and fell in love with grooming. She has been grooming since 2003, and loves the process of making pets look and feel good. Tori also enjoys going to grooming shows and seminars, and keeping up on the latest styles, techniques, and products to keep pets healthy and looking their best.
Out of the office, she loves spending time with her adorable son, 2 dogs, and cat. Tori, like the rest of our team, is Fear Free Certified and has quickly learned how to use her certification to make your pets' grooming less stressful and the most enjoyable experience possible.
